Session Clerk
Session Clerk: Dr Chris Williams Chris Williams moved with his wife Alison to Killearn in 2000. They have two children who attend Killearn primary school and nursery. He has been an elder at Killearn Kirk since 2004 and Session Clerk since 2006. Chris works as a Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry and Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist at the University of Glasgow. His main work interest has been on using self-help approaches using a form of psychotherapy called Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). This aims to help people facing problems such as low mood and stress. He is author of the www.livinglifetothefull.com life skills course and the equivalent Church based site www.feelinglikethis.com. He is a keen advocate of introducing CBT principles into Church support settings, and co-wrote the book I’m Not supposed to Feel like this: A Christian approach to anxiety and depression. He is currently working with the Christian charity Jubilee Trust (http://www.jubileetrust.co.uk/website/) to produce a new version of www.feelinglikethis based on the successful www.livinglifetothefull.com format. |
