Call to new Minister

The Congregational meeting and Ballot

It's now just over 12 months since the Nominating Committee was entrusted to find a Minister for Killearn Kirk and Parish. Over the last year there have been multiple expressions of interest from Ministers and Probationers, many suggested names and also a number of formal applications. Visits have occurred to a large number of churches, and throughout this time there has been a real sense of unity within the Committee about the task. That sense of common purpose and prayer has finally borne fruit and we're delighted to say an excellent Minister has applied, been interviewed and has been invited to come to Killearn to preach with a view to becoming our new Minister There is a strong sense of joy within the Committee that this particular person has applied, and a definite feeling that he is called by God to be here in Killearn. It is noteworthy that all 13 members of the committee voted in favour of offering the selected candidate the post as sole nominee. Rev. Lee Messeder, brings the right combination of faith and personal skills that Killearn needs - both in the church and the wider community.

All members and adherents of the church, on the electoral register, voted after the service. The counting was completed by Mr Macpherson and 3 members of his own congregation. The Session met and observed the counting. When the counting is completed it will be recorded in the minute of the Kirk Session

The voting was as follows:

For Rev Lee Messeder becoming minister of Killearn Kirk - 131

Against                                                                                -    16
