Killearn Kirk Worship Leader/Organist

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Christian who can transmit the Christian Faith through the worship of the Church.

Responsibilities:

-The applicant would need to be flexible and willing to work with different styles of musical worship

-To play the organ ( Eminent Cantata 2, 2 man + ped, installed in April 2007.  For further information about the installation look at www.cathedralorgans.com or go direct to Killearn Kirk organ, Cathedral organs ) when that is the appropriate instrument to lead / accompany the singing.

-To develop the musical worship within Killearn Kirk in cooperation with the Minister

-To develop further the musical gifts of the congregation, choir and music group

-To encourage the rich diversity of musical worship.

Skills / attributes:

-Solid musical talent and skills

-Ability to play at least one musical instrument well

-Interest in a variety of styles of music

-Good communication skills

-Ability to work with different age groups

Notes:

It would be helpful if a substitute could be arranged when taking a Sunday off. Applicants will have to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG Scheme) which supercedes the SCRO disclosures.

Remuneration:

According to SFO scales, by negotiation according to skills and experience, most likely within bands b and c depending on experience and contribution to worship.

Hours of work:

The weekly Sunday morning Service at 10.30am. A choir or other musical activities would also require regular commitment. When necessary to play at wedding and funeral services.
